Description
One reel to reel recording. Dragon was a composer and conductor from Antioch, California. He conducted the Hollywood Bowl Symphony, and composed several film scores, including "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and "Cover Girl", for which he won an Academy Award in 1944. His son, Daryl Dragon, was the husband half of Captain & Tennile. His daughter, also Carmen, was a world-renowned harpist.

One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. NOTE -- The original reel was inadvertently recorded on side 2 first, and then side 1. When digitized for preservation purposes, that sequence order was maintained. The tracks here are listed in the order of the reel recording, not the order as recorded at the festival. Therefore, notations are included as to which side of the reel the tracks are actually from. Detailed information on the performers can be found on the 1960 festival program, located in S 1619, box 1. Foy, Gill and Knight played as the Accordion Trio.

Description
Two audio cassettes. Recordings of interviews and music performances by a string band in Otter Creek. Includes interviews with the band members about their music and Otter Creek. Recorded in January 1960, May 1960, and January 1962 by Marty Schuman, who also played with them. The band consisted of Holston (fiddle); Schuman (banjo); Hunt (guitar); and Davis.

Reverend Graham sermonizes in between gospel hymns. Hazel Gross led the choir with assistance from Minnie Fields, "Sister" Shavers, and Columbus Smith. This cassette is the third tape of copies made from the collection of Reverend Robert Brown of Jacksonville by the Florida Folklife Program of the "Prayer Time" radio show. The source tape suffered many malfunctions during original transfer to cassette and intermittently cuts off. Duplicated onto reel-to-reel in series 1576 as T84-103.

Lorenzo Conway serves as emcee. Reverend Graham sermonizes in between gospel hymns. Hazel Gross, assisted by Priscilla Smith and Matthew McCoy, arranged the music. This cassette is the second tape of copies made by the Florida Folklife Program of "Prayer Time" from the collection of Reverend Robert Brown of Jacksonville. The first part of the tape was recorded at a different speed from the rest of the tape. Duplicated onto reel-to-reel in series 1576 as T84-102.
