McKenzie remembers Dan Marshal (The session is a tribute to him). Laurel Dabbs discusses functional decoy construction. Paul Greene discusses his early days at the Folk Festival. Woodcarving as artistic, contemporary and as a folk art is discussed as well as specific aspects of the craft such as cornstack carving and whittling.

Nine color prints. The Florida Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1987 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalis, Steve Fragos, Merri Belland, and Barbara Seitz as preliminary research for a joint folk art between the Florida Folklife Program and the Florida Museum of History. The field researchers focused on those areas previously overlooked by FFP staff. The research focused on identifying folk artists and locating appropriate exhibit objects.

Fourteen color slides. Images of Bill's wood carving, and Doris' baskets. He was from Chunn's Cove, North Carolina, and she from Alabama. For more information on them, see S 1704, box 1, folder 1. They both dabbled in many crafts.
