- Thirty-six black and white prints, plus negatives. Images of the Blessing of the Fleet, including images of WUFT-TV staff Saperstein and Williams filming the proceedings. Activities included a religious processional, a parade of boats, and spectators at the docks. Footage was used for the shrimping folklife documentary, Fishing All My Days.

The Epiphany of Our Lord is a Christian rite celebrated within the Eastern Orthodox faith. Epiphany is a Greek word meaning to make known, and refers to the visit of the Magi to Christ, thereby making him known to the world. It is the climax of the twelve days of Christmas. Tarpon Springs boasts a large Greek American community.

- Twenty color slides. Images of the Miss Joann, a shrimp boat built and used by the Herrin brothers (Donald, Charles, and Thomas) in Mayport, Florida. For images of the Herrin brothers shrimping on the boat, see S 1577, v. 44, images S88-21 - S88-146. Between 1986 and 1987, a partnership between the Florida Folklife Program and the American Folk Center created the Maritime Heritage Survey Project. Focusing on the Gulf and Atlantic fishing cultures, and utilizing photographs, slides, oral histories, and on-site interviews, the survey climaxed with a demonstration area at the 1987 Florida Folk Festival. The three main researchers were Nancy Nusz, Merri Belland, and project director David Taylor. Additional information on the project can be found in Taylor's project files in S 1716.

The program provided an opportunity for master folk artists to share technical skills and cultural knowledge with apprentices in order to keep the tradition alive. Apprentices must have had some experience in the tradition and agreed to train for at least six months. The first project director was Blanton Owen, later replaced by folklorist Peter Roller. The program was continued each year through 2003.
