One reel to reel recording. NOTE: Due to technical problems with the original reels the recording quality of the 1971 Florida Folk Festival is exceptionally poor. Boltin served as emcee. (The last five tracks of the reel -- not listed here -- are from the Friday afternoon program. See separate entry for description.) The first few tracks may have been from the previous day's program (Thursday, 6 May, 1971). The reel indexes are unclear. The Schillings were from Cosby, Tennessee. Jean played dulcimer. The Orange Blossom Bluegrass were from Tampa. Nelson lived in Gainesville. Pavitt lived in Juneau, Alaska. The Good Guys were based out of West Palm Beach. Fiddler Stephens lived in Panama City. Starker played the steel drums.

One reel to reel recording. Cantrell served as the emcee. The worskhop began with the steel drum band, led by Reyes, followed by Liliane Louis, prompted by Cantrell, telling stories about Haitian holiday tradtions. Each year at the Florida Folk Festival, the Florida Folklife Program emphasized a particular culture, tradtions, or geographic area. In 1990, they emphasized celebrations of various Florida groups. including Haitians, Trinidadians, Greeks, and Jewish peoples.

One video recording (3/4", 22 minutes). Includes most of Junkanoos performance on the main stage (see T91-30 for audio recording.) Fitchen served as emcee. Followed by the City of Dunedin Pipe Band, who marched from the rear of the audience to the stage. Their performance was filmed from the back the back of the stage, facing the audience. Hard to hear. Continued on FV-71. (See T91-31 for audio recording.) Includes many shots of the audience.
