One eight-track cassette. Used for an exhibit, contains Skordilis on bouzouki and Keith on the bagpipe. The Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program began in 1983 with a NEA grant of $22,000. The program provided an opportunity for master folk artists to share technical skills and cultural knowledge with apprentices in order to keep the tradition alive. Apprentices must have had some experience in the tradition and agreed to train for at least six months. The first project director was Blanton Owen, later replaced by folklorist Peter Roller, and then Robert Stone. The program was continued each year through 2004.

Description
One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. From St. Augustine, Joe Mark also worked as a graphic designer. This was his eleventh festival. From Jensen Beach, the Back Porch Boys consisted of Ken Crawford, Michael Goodman, Frank Renton, and Bob Kane. This was their first festival. From Jacksonville, White was also a kindergarten teacher. This was her first festival. Dixon was a minister from Miami. The Back Porch Boys were from Jacksonville. From Jacksonville, the Shoestring Puppet Theater performed an 18th Century puppet play by Metterlinck, blending puppetry with mime. Lais danced to singer-guitarist McLean's songs.
