Description
Three black and white prints with negatives. Nancy Greenberg displaying her Jewish marriage contract art, known as Katubut/Katabbah. Jewish law requires men to give women a marriage contract on their wedding day. A katubbah, usually written in Yiddish, guarantees her financial rights upon his death. The contracts are designed with art and motifs of the local Jewish community. 15 June 1979.

Description
One audio cassette. Symonette came to Florida in 1912 from the Bahamas. He fished and netted until 1980. In the interview, he discuses moving to Florida; fishing in South Florida; using the moon and weather signs to gauge fishing spots; catching kingfish, mackerel, and blue fish; fish markets in South Florida; use of boats and nets; fishing tackle; the effects of radio, motors, and refrigeration on the fishing industry; the 1928 hurricane; religion; and retiring from the business in 1980.

Nine color slides. Images of a religious painting by Rey Reyes Castillo for use as an altar. In winter 1985, the Bureau contracted with two folklorists to conduct a folk arts survey of the St. Johns River basin in northeastern Florida. The St. Johns River is the largest and most used river in Florida, supporting much river commerce as well as a modest amount of commercial fishing. Folklorists Mary Anne McDonald and Kathleen Figgen conducted the survey from January through March 1985 under the direction of Folklife Coordinator Blanton Owen and Bureau Chief Ormond Loomis. Documentation compiled in the survey was used to prepare and present the "St. Johns River Basin Folklife Area" at the 1985 Florida Folk Festival.

One video recording (3/4 tape; 16 minutes) Video of Tsimouris family photographs for use in the Every Island Has Its Own Song documentary. Images include life in Greece and Florida, the Tsimouris family (swimming, vacationing, weddings, and family gatherings), the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and scenes of Greece. The finished product was a co-production of WEDO-TV and the FFP, it was funded in part by the Florida Endowment for the Humanities. Offenbach narrated. Folklorist Michael wrote and produced, and Yvonne Bryant was assistant producer.

The Sunday Folk Music in the Park concert series were held between September and February each year from 1991 through 1993 in the amphitheater at the Stephen Foster State Folk Culture Center (Stephen Foster Center). Each concert showcased a different mucial style: gospel, bluegrass, Florida folk, and Irish music among others. The series was arranged and promoted by the Florida Folklife Program.

The concerts, presented as a church service, featured several gospel music groups from Florida and elsewhere: Ponder Singers (Jax.); Cisrow Gospel Allstars (Millville, NJ); Washington Singers (Cocoa); Goldenaires and the Spiritualettes (Orlando); Master Keys and the Dixie Hummingbirds (Philadelphia, PA); and the Dixie Jubilees (Jax). The concerts, presented as a church service, featured several gospel music groups from Florida and elsewhere: Ponder Singers (Jax.); Cisrow Gospel Allstars (Millville, NJ); Washington Singers (Cocoa); Goldenaires and the Spiritualettes (Orlando); Master Keys and the Dixie Hummingbirds (Philadelphia, PA); and the Dixie Jubilees (Jax). Description
One proof sheet with thirty-four black and white images, plus negatives. The Versiteers were a black gospel a capella singing group. They consisted of Harry Mae Anthony, Artie Brooks, Myrtle Barton, L.V. Starling, and Belinda Carter. The images were taken at the New Berlin Baptist Church during a ceremony awarding The Versiteers the Florida Folk Heritage Award for 1992. Images include the group receiving the award, normal church service with sermons, and gospel signing. Included is a log sheet identifying the participants. See also S 1723, box 1 for audio recording of the ceremony.
