Three reel to reels. Murray, an actor, carnival pitchman, and comic, discusses his career. Topics include jokes; Yiddish theater; acting; medicine shows; traveling theaters; comedians; pitching at carnivals and fairs; performing on the radio; moving to Florida in 1969; the differences between vaudeville and burlesque; and learning the craft. Provides several examples of his material. Copied onto audiocassettes C83-13, C83-14, and C83-15; as well as tapes 16 and 17 in box 40 of series 1576.

Material used for a public radio on traveling entertainment, a copy of which can be found on audiocassette C95-43.

Description
One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Towards the end of the reel, radio commercials for the 1975 Florida Folk Festival were accidentally recorded onto the reel by the Stephen Foster Center staff. It is unknown what was recorded over. The Antioch Junior Choir sang gospel songs, and were from Manning, SC.

Includes an award given to Thelma Boltin, discussion of late festival performer Bob Beers, Scottish songs, explanation of Sacred Harp Singing, stories and songs by Gamble Rogers, interviews with Al Head, Rogers, and Boltin, and various performances from the festival.

The family consists of University of Florida professor Dr. Delbert Sterrett, his wife, and children. These programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.

The Sterrett Family, of Gainesville, consisted of Dr. Delbert Sterrett (music professor at University of Florida), his wife (also a music teacher), and children Jamie, Vickie, and Tyler. There is also a 30-minute version. These radio programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.
