In the interview, she discusses coming to Winter Garden, Florida, in the 1920s; learning to quilt from her mother; the tools and methods used in quilting; and quilting patterns such as "rail fence", "trip around the world", "butterfly," "girl with umbrella" and others. In addition, she describes growing up on a farm and planting crops by signs and omens.
