One audio cassette. Copy of the Florida Sand special program for NPR's Folk Festival USA series. The program was written by singer Gamble Rogers and edited and produced by Deborah Lamberton and Flawn Williams. The program was mixed at WHA studios in Madison, Wisconsin. The show celebrated the songs and life of Florida singer/songwriter Will McLean. The show includes memories and stories by Rogers, Boltin, and McLean, plus McLean singing several of his songs.

Description
Twenty color slides. Ranger-Brown reciting her poems about rural life in Jamaica. Never written down, the poems demonstrate Jamaican dialects and culture. She had performed on television with comedian Jerry Lewis, and was awarded a medal by Jamaica's prime minister for contributions to Jamaican culture in 1984. The Dade Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1986 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalas, Nancy Nusz and Laurie Sommers in order to identify folk arts and folk artists for the special folklife area at the 34th Annual Florida Folk Festival. The traditions are mainly Haitian, Jamaican, Mexican, Bahamian, Cuban and Jewish and cover a wide range of skills and art forms.
