Description
Thirteen color slides. Rosemale literally means "rose" or "flower" paitning, and refers to Norwegian decorative painting. It was popula rin Euope from 1750 through 1870s. It was revived by Norwegian Americans when they began rosemaling their family furniture like bowls and trunks. The Florida Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1987 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalis, Steve Fragos, Merri Belland, and Barbara Seitz as preliminary research for a joint folk art between the Florida Folklife Program and the Florida Museum of History. The field researchers focused on those areas previously overlooked by FFP staff. The research focused on identifying folk artists and locating appropriate exhibit objects.

Performances at the Florida Folk Festival by exchange students; taken from the 1955 (Fowley & students), 1957 (Kater & Wehlberg), and 1960 (Mudjito & Amirudin) festival recordings. There is also a 30-minute version. These radio programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.
