Description
One video cassette. (3/4" tape) 20 minutes. Po lambi was used in rural Haitian villages to signal social gatherings, as work songs, and harvesting. A co-production of WEDO-TV and the FFP, it was funded in part by the Florida Endowment for the Humanities. Offenbach narrated. Includes family images, the Epiphany celebration, Tsimouris making and playing the tsabouna (Greek bagpipe), and discussion of Greek life and immigration. Sawmill: Raw footage of Frog talking with sawmill worker Joe Hendry, at Jerome Lumber Company. They discuss sawmilling in Florida in the early 1900s, including pine and cypress timber, logging, accidents and dangers of sawmills, child labor, and tools involved. Discuss working in Wassau, Kenansville, Okeechobee, Hopkins, Lake City, Levy County, and along the Suwannee River. For more footage, see FV-26, V86-29, and V86-25.

Florida Yesterdays was a Fort Myers-based television program filmed in 1977 that featured storyteller and folk artist Frog Smith discussing "old" Florida. Each episode was about a different topic. Produced by Channel 11 (WINK-TV).
