Description
One audio cassette. A duplicate copy can be found on C80-19. This is an unmixed, pre-master third-generation recording of field recordings conducted between 1978 and 1980 from the Florida Record Project. That project, along with work for the North Florida Folklife Project, resulted in Drop on Down in Florida, an exploration of African American musical traditions in Florida.  Tape is in very poor condition and cannot be reproduced.

Three reel to reels. These were copies of the master tapes (see T80-123 and T8-124) for the Florida Folklife Program album, Drop on Down in Florida, a double album comprised of field recordings from the North Florida Folklife Project and those made specifically for this album. The album featured African American musical traditions throughout Florida. For more selections by these artists, see the original field recordings.

One reel to reel recording. (Also copied onto audio cassette C83-98) A recording of the 25th anniversary album produced by the FFP staff in honor of the Florida Folk Festival, covering 1952 - 1977. Released in 1981, the album was culled from the recordings of the Florida Folk Festivals found in S 1576. See notes in S 1579, box 1, folder: 'T83-117 through T83-120' for which reels these selections were copied from.

One digital audio tape (DAT). Bucuvalas served as the emcee. Banks and Demps demonstrated hymn lining. Yao and Edge played the zheng, the Chinese zither. They were all participants in the Folklife Apprenticeship Program. The Roddenberry Family sang sacred harp (shape note) songs.
