One audio cassette tape. Joseph Killgore continues his demonstration of net-making (see C99-72). He also discusses his work as a fisherman, the fish he has caught and different fishing jobs he's held. He also talks of his experience in building charter boats and rowboats. Herman and Louise Ibach, interviewed by Bob Stone, discuss Scottish Highland Games and the different components of them such as the stone punt, the hammer throw and the sheaf toss. Louise Ibach discusses participants for the Games and divisions in the Games.

Three reel to reels. Interview with Florida marine biologist Dr. Ingle. Ingle worked for years with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. He discusses the history of Apalachicola; the history of fishing in the area; immigration to the town; the marine biology of Apalachicola Bay; oystering; local political culture; food habits of area; his career as a marine biologist; types of boats; and changes to the local ecosystems. A partial copy of the interview can be found at the Library of Congress' American Folk Center Archive (AFS 26,782A12). Between 1986 and 1987, a partnership between the Florida Folklife Program and the American Folk Center created the Maritime Heritage Survey Project. Focusing on the Gulf and Atlantic fishing cultures, and utilizing photographs, slides, oral histories, and on-site interviews, the survey climaxed with a demonstration area at the 1987 Florida Folk Festival. The three main researchers were Nancy Nusz, Merri Belland, and project director David Taylor. Additional information on the project can be found in Taylor's project files in S 1716.

Two audio cassettes. Interview with Captain Eddie Baker. Born in Georgia, Baker moved to Mayport in the 1920s, and worked as a captain for several fish houses. He discusses growing up around fishing and farming; farming techniques; learning the trade; recreational fishing; eating and cooking fish; skippering shrimp boats; economic aspects of shrimping; immigrant fishers in Mayport; regulations of fishing; World War II in Florida; bait; weather lore; superstitions and folklore; dangers of shrimping; and race relations. Between 1986 and 1987, a partnership between the Florida Folklife Program and the American Folk Center created the Maritime Heritage Survey Project.
