The group included Ragbir, Mahesh Roopharine, Chris Jai Karan, Joe Ramanan, Robert Ragbit, Barry Jai Karan, and Shivanan Ramanan. They were participants in the Folklife Apprenticeship program. Apo and Lavoi played Hawaiian music, including playing the poi balls.

They were a klezmer band which played traditional Jewish songs for weddings and other traditional ceremonies. The Dade Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1986 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalas, Nancy Nusz and Laurie Sommers in order to identify folk arts and folk artists for the special folklife area at the 34th Annual Florida Folk Festival. The traditions are mainly Haitian, Jamaican, Mexican, Bahamian, Cuban and Jewish and cover a wide range of skills and art forms.

- One reel to reel recordings. Devine and Boltin served as emcee. Champion's tribute began on T86-146. Champion died in February 1986. Born 23 March 1938, Champion was a nationally recognized banjoist who wrote several instructional banjo manuals. In the early 1960s, he and Jim (later Gamble) Rogers were playing local clubs, along with Will McLean. He even recorded the soundtrack for the low-budget horror film 2000 Maniacs (directed by Herschel Gordon Lewis), filmed in Orlando. By the time of his death, he was a Florida Folk Festival regular, and major influence upon many Florida musicians.
