Born 13 February 1918, Allen was awarded for his efforts to preserve "Cracker" culture through his restaurant and his newspaper columns. He also promoted bluegrass music throughout Florida with his restaurant, Allen's Historical Cafe, which featured live bluegrass music. 1-4: Rep. Fred Lewis, Carl Allen, and K. Monahan; 5: Rep.
