Description
Two audio cassettes. Telling stories originally by Scarlett Mizell, sister of famed rancher Bone Mizell. The Florida Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1987 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalis, Steve Frangos, Merri Belland, and Barbara Seitz as preliminary research for a joint folk arts project between the Florida Folklife Program and the Florida Museum of History. The field researchers focused on those areas previously overlooked by FFP staff. The research focused on identifying folk artists and locating appropriate exhibit objects.

One reel to reel recording (16 minutes) Four short radio programs that deal with the Florida Folk Festival. It is very similar to the program found on 61-2-15. 1. Joe Tomazin (3:25) 2. Julia Dawson (4:40) 3. Anne Llewellyn (4:08) 4. White Springs Glee Club (4:37) These programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.

Eight color slides. Tinsley singing cowboys songs at the Ocala Public Library, accompanied by his wife Lottie in some images. This was part of a National Endowment for the Arts-funded folklife program across the state, using local talent at various libraries. Recordings of his performance can be found in S 1576, box 12, cassettes C84-10 and C84-11.
