- One reel to reel recording (13:30 minutes). Radio program about the 1965 Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair competition, featuring the winner Graham singing the Foster song. These radio programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music. One reel to reel recording. Starting in 1951, each February, the Stephen Foster Memorial and the Florida Federation of Music Clubs sponsored a competition aimed at young female vocalists. The winner was dubbed that year's "Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair." A ball was also held in association with the contest. Starting in 1954, winners were awarded musical scholarships, and a spot on the Florida Folk Festival program.

- One reel-to-reel recording. Mitchell, born in Greensboro, Alabama, first moved to Florida in 1949. Eventually, he was hired by Capells Shoe Store to shine (and later repair) shoes. Florida Folk Festival director Thelma Boltin discovered him in the early 1970s, and he performed at several festivals thereafter. He does not sing (he usually has a harmonica player accompany him) but rather creates a syncopated beat with his rag. In the interview, he discusses his early life, moving to Florida, working at the shoe store, performing his shoe shine rag, and gives examples of his skill.

- Two reel-to-reel tapes. Brown (guitar, vocals) and French (guitar, vocals) perform blues songs. These recordings were made as part of the first Works Progress Administration's (WPA) Federal Writers' Project (FWP) recording expedition in Florida, conducted by Lomax, Hurston, and Barnicle. These recordings are copies of acetate disks housed in the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress, numbered AFS 355 through 361, side A. While the full recording is unedited, some of the track selections have been spliced where skipping or dropouts occurred.
