Description: One audio cassette (DAT tape). Amy Cox began playing with her father Gerry and mother Regina in the Homegrown String Band in 1982 at the age of eight. They played the Florida Folk Festival from 1983 through the 1990s. A copy of their album, Little Streams of Whiskey, can be found in S 1640, box 21. Murphy was her apprentice in 1990-1991.

Description: One audiocassette recording. Recorded at the Ocala House of God Church #2. At the time, Edwards was a sophomore at Vanguard High School. He discussed playing and learning the sacred steel guitar. There is a significant amount of background noise, but the interview is still audible.

Description: Two DAT tapes. On tape 25, Stone interviews Rodríguez about different techniques of playing the Venezuelan arpa llanera, also known as the plains harp. Rodríguez demonstrates different joropos, pasajes, and waltzes, and discusses his apprenticeship with Santos. On tape 26, Stone interviews Rodríguez about different harp styles. Santos performs on tracks 10 through 14 while Rodríguez accompanies on cuatro.

Description: One audio cassette. Marvin Silva was funded to learn from Jose Silva how to prepare for and perform the Toro Huaco. This was a traditional pageant that combined costumes, masks, dance and ritual. It is a mixture of Spanish and Nagual Maya traditions.

Description: One digital audio tape (DAT). Stone interviews Palmi about learning the Venezuelan arpa llanera, also known as the plains harp, in Los Llanos; the tuning of the harp; the construction of his harp; and the situations in which he would perform. Palmi demonstrates a pasaje, joropo, vals, and ritmo orquídea . Palmi then discusses the different styles of music across Venezuela; the role of improvisation in folk music; the style of music played during Christmas; demonstrates the cuatro; and how many songs he knows.

Florida Memory is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2021-22, the percentage of total costs for the Florida Memory program financed with federal money is 66%; the federal dollar amount to be spent on the program is $561,960. This program does not receive any non-governmental funding.
