Trent Watkins, Jones, Keeney, Baldwin, and Culbreath all gave demonstrations of fiddle styles, and were not competing. Staley, Turner, Harbit, Harrell, and Bret Watkins were competing in the Youth category. The Florida State Fiddle Contest was held each year at the Festival on Saturdays (the stages varied from year to year). The winners were allowed to perform on the Main Stage that evening.

Zanders, Watkins, and Headly competed in the contemporary category. Zanders & Leedham, Malinowski & Agar, Hartman & Thomas, and Headly & Roberts competed in the Twin fiddle category. Moore competed in the Rustic fiddle category. The Florida State Fiddle Contest was held each year at the Festival on Saturdays (the stages varied from year to year). The rest were competing in the twin fiddle and rustic divisions. The Florida State Fiddle Contest was held each year at the Festival on Saturdays (the stages varied from year to year). The winners were allowed to perform on the Main Stage that evening. The winners for 2001 were: Jonathan Hodge (contemporary); Kathy Agar & Ian Malinowksi (twin fiddle); Lloyd Baldwin (rustic); and Puck Pottsberg (junior).

The winners were allowed to perform on the Main Stage that evening. Kogut served as emcee. Winners for the Rustic Division: Dave Horton (first), David Swanson (second) and Charlie Burton (third). For the Contemporary Division: Gabriel Lewis (first), Judd Taylor (second), and Elan Shocker (third). The winners of the Junior Division were Tommy Slaughter (first), Ian Malinowsky (second) and Joshua Headly (third). The winners of the Twin Fiddle Division: Trenda & Tommy Slaughter (First); Ian Malinsowky & Elan Chalford (second) and Sharon McInnis & Sandy McIntire (third).
