One video recording (VHS; 40 minutes) Created by the Northeast Florida Institute for Science, Mathematics and Computers of University of North Florida, and the Florida Community College of Jacksonville, the documentary traces the natural and cultural history of the Suwannee River from its source in the Okeefenokee Swamp to the Gulf of Mexico. Funded through a grant by the Florida Dept. of Education, topics include the relationship between the river, local springs, and the aquifer, as well as human activities along its banks including the Florida Folk Festival, the Battle of Olustee, Stephen Foster, and phosphate mining. Includes footage of Fitchen, Makley, and Slavin performing at the Florida Folk Festival. Also includes much discussion of the natural features and wildlife of the river. It was narrated by Bill Massie, with music by Landon Walker. The video was produced, directed, and co-written by Dr. Ray Bowman.

One video recording. (VHS; 30 minutes) Includes Michael Callen, Gamble Rogers, Doug Gauss, Robin Hendrix, Wayne Martin, Landon Walker, and Mal Hillard. Rogers served as emcee. Singer-songwriter Will McLean was often called the 'Father of Florida Folk.' The Black Hat Troubadour, a nickname for the hat he usually wore, authored over 3500 songs, and was a national figure on the folk music scene. A fifth generation Floridian, he died in 1990 from cancer, the year after he won the Florida Folk Heritage award. In 1996, he was inducted in the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. Audio recordings of the tribute can be found on reels T91-51 and T91-52, in S 1576. Images from the tribute can be found in S 1577, v. 60, slides S92-592 through S92-634.

Created by using earlier FFP recordings. Includes recordings of prisoners singing the blues together while laboring and performances of "Baby Please Don't Go" and "I'm a Stranger Here" by Blind Johnny Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Includes commentary by Florida folklorists and Florida blues musicians.
