Description: One reel to reel recording. Walker served as emcee. The 1989 awards were dedicated by Secretary of State Smith to Marjorie Rawlings and Zora Neale Hurston. The winners were E. W. Carswell, Nikitas Tsimouris, and Robert Wise. Nikitas' son, Tony (Antonio) accepted for him.

Tony and Nikitas Tsimouris at work together on job subcontracted to Tony's business "T&N Stucco", St. Nicholas Church exterior-side, children playing outside church, St. Nicholas front-exterior, boats on Anclote River. Created for the Every Island Has Its Own Song project. The finished product was a documentary about Nikitas Tsimouris, a Greek bagpipe player, and his family, and the Tarpon Springs Greek community he lived in. V89-27: Continuation of "Ala ruja" from V-89-26 with Nikitas, Tony, and Nicki (Nikitas' daughter) Tsimouris.

Florida Memory is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2022-23, the percentage of total costs for the Florida Memory program financed with federal money is 66%; the federal dollar amount to be spent on the program is $646,422. This program does not receive any non-governmental funding.
