Opening performances, including remarks by folklorist and Folklife Program director Loomis and festival director Boltin; jump rope and handclapping games by students, and sea songs by the Deep Water Family (from Jacksonville: Steve, Mike, and Cindy Nash). The Drifting Cowboys performed cowboy songs, and consisted of Bob & Dottie Tinsley, and Jim Robinson.

Description
One audio cassette tape. Jim Bob Tinsley and his wife Dottie discuss their personal history and other aspects of his life as a collector, writer and performer of cowboy songs. He gives a description of his books and tells stories about various people such as Bone Mizell, Smily Burnett, Gene Autry, Rex Allen, Frog Millhouse (told by Dottie), the man who wrote "Home, Home on the Range", Snuff Garrett and Coco and The Sons of the Pioneers. He also performs several cowboy songs. Steel guiatrist Roberts joins the Tinsleys on some of the songs.
