Description
Seven audio cassettes; seven DAT tapes. This was a two-part recording released by the Florida Folklife Program [as a sequel to the 25th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival album] to honor the 40th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival. The finished album can be found on tapes 47 and 48 (on cassette) and tapes 36 and 37 (on DAT). The other tapes are various recordings of the Folk Festival from which the album's selection was made. The first 25th Anniversary album - covering the years 1953 through 1980-- can be found in S 1576, reel T83-135.

One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Older was from Lake Hamilton, and listed in the program as an Adirondack minstrel. Dahm was from Tampa. Lazonby was from Hawthorne. The band, No Commercial Appeal, was from Gainesville. Hilliard was from Seabreeze.

One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. From Jacksonville, Jim Crawford played banjo; Gretchen Crawford once sang for the Jay Smith Family singers. Foster and Fitchen were from Cocoa. The Caney Forkers were from Cookeville, Tenn. No Commercial Appeal were from Gainesville. Patterson was from St. Augustine. The rest of Grooms' performance can be found on T83-105.

Description
One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Johnson and Wickman were from Gainesville. From Stuart, this was Buckosh's first Folk Festival. He was accompanied by Bob Kane. He was once featured on Charles Kuralt's On the Road singing his song Confusion Corner. Schuman was a counselor at the University of Florida; this was his first festival. The cloggers and the Bucksnort Barndance Band were from Gainesville. At the time Evelyn lived in Petersburg, New York. Popular on the folk circuit in the 1960s, she performed with late husband Bob (and later daughter Martha)as the popular folk act, the Beers Family. They were sent in 1968 by the U.S. Dept. of State on a tour on India, and once played for the White House in 1969. In 1966, they also began the popular Fox Hollow Festival in upstate New York. In 1972, Bob Beers died in a car crash. His daughter still performs as Martha Nagler, and Evelyn continued performing at Florida Folk Festivals well into the 1970s. Odom was from Georgia.
