Troy and Lucy Lovelace discuss their history; Troy's early years in North Carolina learning to play on a fiddle made from a cigar box; major influences on his playing; an opportunity to play in Nashville which he turned down; meeting Lucy; Lucy's musical ability; places they've played in Florida; relationship with Florida folk musicians such as Gayle and Dwight Rodgers, Clyde Davis, and Alexa Jaffers; differences between bluegrass and folk music as they play it; how they settled in Florida. Before the end of the interview, the couple also plays music.

Seven audio cassettes; seven DAT tapes. This was a two-part recording released by the Florida Folklife Program [as a sequel to the 25th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival album] to honor the 40th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival. The finished album can be found on tapes 47 and 48 (on cassette) and tapes 36 and 37 (on DAT). The other tapes are various recordings of the Folk Festival from which the album's selection was made. The first 25th Anniversary album - covering the years 1953 through 1980-- can be found in S 1576, reel T83-135.
