One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Towards the end of the reel, radio commercials for the 1975 Florida Folk Festival were accidentally recorded onto the reel by the Stephen Foster Center staff. It is unknown what was recorded over. The Antioch Junior Choir sang gospel songs, and were from Manning, SC.

Description
Seven audio cassettes; seven DAT tapes. This was a two-part recording released by the Florida Folklife Program [as a sequel to the 25th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival album] to honor the 40th Anniversary of the Florida Folk Festival. The finished album can be found on tapes 47 and 48 (on cassette) and tapes 36 and 37 (on DAT). The other tapes are various recordings of the Folk Festival from which the album's selection was made. The first 25th Anniversary album - covering the years 1953 through 1980-- can be found in S 1576, reel T83-135.

The Deckards of Lake City sang gospel music. Smith was a storyteller from Fort Myers. George and Martha Heaps-Nelson were from Swainsboro, Georgia.

One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. The New Sand Mountain Wildcats was from Lutz; they consisted of Ernie Williams, Rob Levine (psychology professor), Shellie Yeager, Daralyn Caudill (teacher), and Bill Dudley (a FM disc jockey). Kloiber, at the time a law student at the University of Virginia, was from West Palm Beach; Gerard, a speech graduate student at the University of Tampa, was from Lake City. They met and began playing traditional folk music while students at Florida State University. Blues singer Brown was from St. Petersburg. George and Marilyn Heaps-Nelson were from Swainsboro, Georgia. Bonk was from Atlanta, Georgia.
