Description
One proof sheet with 36 black and white images (plus negatives). Various fieldwork images, including His Quartet (from Clewiston; 3 images); local pioneer Salvatore (3 images); carver Harrington (5 images); a school mural (12 images); a sign for Chaka Zolo store; and a sculpture commemorating the 1928 hurricane. In 1992, the Palm Beach Community College contracted the Florida Folklife Program to conduct ten days of fieldwork in March 1992 around Lake Okeechobee for a Lakefront Legacy Festival later that year (16 May 1992). Headed up by FFP folklorist Debbie Fant, and assisted by Robert Stone and Robert Shanafelt, the fieldwork involved 26 informants, slides, print images and recorded interviews. In the end, the FFP recommended seven people for festival participation.

Nineteen color slides. Images of animal wood carvings (mostly of birds) in Harrington's house, a former farmer. In 1992, the Palm Beach Community College contracted the Florida Folklife Program to conduct ten days of fieldwork in March 1992 around Lake Okeechobee for a Lakefront Legacy Festival later that year (16 May 1992).
