Description
Audio cassette recording. Approximately one hour. The Versiteers were a black gospel a capella singing group. They consisted of Harry Mae Anthony, Artie Brooks, Myrtle Barton, L.V. Starling, and Belinda Carter. The recording was made at the New Berlin Baptist Church during a ceremony awarding the Versiteers the Florida Folk Heritage Award for 1992. The recording includes the awards ceremony, as well as church services and gospel singing. Performers include The Versiteers, The Harbor Lights, Rev. Marcus King, and the New St. James Choir. Included in the folder is a recording log listing all the songs and speakers. See also S 1723, box 1 for photographs of the ceremony.

One proof sheet with thirty-four black and white images, plus negatives. The Versiteers were a black gospel a capella singing group. They consisted of Harry Mae Anthony, Artie Brooks, Myrtle Barton, L.V. Starling, and Belinda Carter. The images were taken at the New Berlin Baptist Church during a ceremony awarding The Versiteers the Florida Folk Heritage Award for 1992. Images include the group receiving the award, normal church service with sermons, and gospel signing. Included is a log sheet identifying the participants.
