Ceili was a traditional Irish song and story Fest with: Robert Bradley of Ormond Beach, FL; Pam Carsey and Linda Graham of Miami, FLi; John Rowan, Sr. and John Rowan Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; J.U. and Wanda Lee of Flagler Beach, FL; George and Deborah Phillips of Miami, FL; and South Moon Under, Bunnell, FL. Moore, of WHite Springs, danced to recorded music. Louis was from Miami.

Description
Twenty color slides. For more information on Kelly and the apprentices, see S 1640, box 8, folder 9. The Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program began in 1983 with a NEA grant of $22,000. The program provided an opportunity for master folk artists to share technical skills and cultural knowledge with apprentices in order to keep the tradition alive. Apprentices must have had some experience in the tradition and agreed to train for at least six months. The first project director was Blanton Owen, later replaced by folklorist Peter Roller. The program was continued each year through 2003.

One video recording. (3/4" tape; 19 minutes) Video of the 1989 Florida Folk Festival. Footage of the Florida Folklife Program's apprentice tent. Hanson and his apprentice Keil demonstrate how to make fly-fishing hooks and lures. Diaz and Lindstrom demonstrated lace bobbin. And Famed irish fiddler Kelly and his two apprentices, Carsey and Gesele, play an Irish fiddle tune. The Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program began in 1983 with a NEA grant of $22,000.
