- Two reel to reels (also copied onto audio cassette). Interview with fisher Angelo Fichera, whose family came from Sicily. He fished for oysters, clams, shrimps, and sturgeon. He discusses Italian and Greek communities in Apalachicola; his fisher father; oystering; fishing boats; mullet and sturgeon fishing; using nets; local businesses; and local fishers. Also a copy can be found in the Library of Congress' American Folk Archive (AFS 26,808). Between 1986 and 1987, a partnership between the Florida Folklife Program and the American Folk Center created the Maritime Heritage Survey Project. Focusing on the Gulf and Atlantic fishing cultures, and utilizing photographs, slides, oral histories, and on-site interviews, the survey climaxed with a demonstration area at the 1987 Florida Folk Festival.
