Five black and white prints. P79-679 Rufus Adams of Mayo demontrating his corn shuck bottom chairs to crowds. P79-681 Queen Udell and her yo-yo quilt. Yo-yo quilt were quilts made from several circular swatches of cloth swen together. P79-682 Cabinet maker Kjell Lunestad of St. Augustine. P79-683 Reverend Thurlow Reed of Key West playing music with a conch shell. P79-684 Jay Abner in front of his restaurant in White Springs. Karl Holland of the Florida Dept. of Commerce took the photographs. He often worked for the Florida Folk Festival, in which he woudl send all unused Commerce photos to the Florida Folklife Program.

The most recent image is from 1992. The word Beseda means gathering, and the dance is a combination of several Czechoslovakian folk dances.

Twenty-one black and white prints. Images of various church groups re-creating brush arbor sermons at the Florida Folk Festival. Brush arbors were informal open shelters under which church services were held. Originally, they were made from tree branches strewn across wooden scaffolding. Later ones were more permanent, similar to a pavilion.

Fourteen black and white prints. Various youth dance groups performing Maypoles at several Florida Folk Festivals. Maypole is folk dance from West Europe in which dancers, each holding a colored ribbon, dance around a pole. They intertwine their ribbons around the pole. In some cultures, this was a fertility dance. By the twentieth century, it was a popular dance, usually performed by children, at May Day celebrations. Each year, the Florida Folk Festival would hold a Maypole dance.
