Dekle demonstrated whip cracking. Lazonby, a lawyer, was from Hawthorne. The Bucksnort Barndance Band played clogging music for the Cross Creek Cloggers -- both from Gainesville. Slavin, from Miami Beach, played old time music at his festival.

The New Sand Mountain Wildcats was from Lutz; they consisted of Ernie Williams, Rob Levine (psychology professor), Shellie Yeager, Daralyn Caudill (teacher), and Bill Dudley (a FM disc jockey). Kloiber, at the time a law student at the University of Virginia, was from West Palm Beach; Gerard, a speech graduate student at the University of Tampa, was from Lake City. They met and began playing traditional folk music while students at Florida State University. Blues singer Brown was from St. Petersburg. George and Marilyn Heaps-Nelson were from Swainsboro, Georgia. Bonk was from Atlanta, Georgia.

From Live Oak, Pure & Simple consisted of David Griswold (bass/vocals), Jerry Jackson (guitar/vocals), and Vickie Jackson (vocals/banjo). Dobbs was from Palatka. The Deckards were from Lake City, where she was a seamstress, and he worked for the Florida DOT. Drava dancers were from Tallahassee. Jones was from Gainesville. Linda Bittner (later Crider) was from Tallahassee, while Dale Crider was from Windsor. They sang songs dealing with the environment.
