Description
One audio cassette. Side two is blank. The Florida Record Project resulted in the two-album recording, Drop On Down in Florida. This was an exploration of African American musical traditions in Florida. Moses Williams was originally from Mississippi. He moved to Florida in the 1950s. He played the diddly bow, a one-string homemade musical instrument, also called a "yakkedy board." Images from this performance can be found in S 1577, box 17, folder 78 (along with more information on the diddly bow). Description
One digital audio tape (DAT). (Copied onto C94-67 and C94-68.) Bruce served as emcee. Pitt was from Lantana. Loomis was the director of the Florida Folklife Program. Orange Street consisted of Martin Johnson (fiddle), Andrew Kelly (tambour), John Johnson, Mary Kelly. Caracappa played guitar & banjo, and was from Biscayne Park. Silver Lining, based out of New Poet Richey, consisted of Steve Wolfe (bass), Mike Godwin (banjo), Jerry Goodson (guitar), and Rosemary Morris. Ellis, from Ormond beach, and played children songs. Third and fourth graders from South Hamilton Elementary sang as a chorus, and performed hand-clap games. Simple Gifts consisted of Cheryl Belanger on autoharp and Ray Belanger on guitar. They were from Tampa.

One digital audio tape (DAT). (Copied onto C94-92/93) Congdon served as the emcee. The Shape Note Singer, led by Pat Morse, were from Gainesville. The Crawford Family (Jim, Gretchen, and Alice) of Jacksonville were filling in for the absent Versiteers (A Jacksonville-based gospel singing group). Skeens and Reigh were from Orlando. Patchwork were a five-member female bluegrass/folk string band from Gainesville, led by Cathy DeWitt. The Care Giver choir were based out of White Springs. Peters Road 7 performed an original operetta written by Long John about an Everglades pioneer.

One digital audio tape(DAT). The Versiteers, a Jacksonville-based a capella gospel group, consisted of L.V. Starling, Linda Carter, and Myrtle Butler. Tru-Blu Grass consisted of Bill Hendry (fiddle), Jane Roynl (bass), Eddie Knight (guitar), Jack Piccalo (banjo) and Ken Carey (mandolin).
