Description
Two reel to reel recordings. Blackwelder began fiddling at 18, a self-taught musician. Born in 1910 in Bradford County, he was in the citrus business. His influences included Chubby Wise and Broward Green. In the recordings, Blackwelder discusses his life and fiddling styles. He plays several fiddle tunes.

Description
Two DAT tapes. Recording of a practice between Arabie and his apprentice Stapleton. They both also talk about their family and personal histories, how they learned the accordion, and musical influences. The Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program began in 1983 with a NEA grant of $22,000. The program provided an opportunity for master folk artists to share technical skills and cultural knowledge with apprentices in order to keep the tradition alive. Apprentices must have had some experience in the tradition and agreed to train for at least six months. The first project director was Blanton Owen, later replaced by first folklorist Peter Roller, then folklorist Robert Stone. The program was continued each year through 2004.

One digital audio tape (DAT). Hood, president of the Florida State Fiddlers Association, served as emcee. Seaman, Pitts, Agar, Murphy, and Martin demonstrated fiddle styles, and were not in competition. The rest were competing in the junior division. The Florida State Fiddle Contest was held each year at the Festival on Saturdays (the stages varied from year to year). The winners were allowed to perform on the Main Stage that evening. The winners for 2001 were: Jonathan Hodge (contemporary); Kathy Agar & Ian Malinowksi (twin fiddle); Lloyd Baldwin (rustic); and Puck Pottsberg (junior).

One reel to reel recording (28 minutes). A collection of high scool choruses performing at the Stephen Foster Memorial. There is also a 15-minute version. These radio programs were created in the early 1960s by the Stephen Foster Memorial to promote the park and its activities, as well as to educate the public about Stephen Foster and Florida folk music.
