John Stevens of Lower Street, Bedford Square in the County of Middlesex Merchant. [?] Oath and saith, That he was present and did see the annexed Indenture of Bargain and Sale, signed sealed and delivered by Matthew Daly on the part of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Browne by virtue of a Power of Attorney dated on the 29th July 1817, and Alexander Murray on the part of the Major General Henry Lee by virtue of a Power of Attorney dated the 12th May 1817 both which Powers of Attorney were at the time exhibited and read and were acknowledged by the parties present to contain full and sufficient authority for so doing. And he further saith that al the same time he subscribed his name as witness to the due Executor of the said Indenture of Bargain and Sale.
