The mission of the State Archives of Florida is to preserve and make available to the public the permanent historic public and private records of Florida in its custody. All records, manuscripts and photographs on the Florida Memory Project Web site have been placed there for historical research purposes. They do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Department of State or the State Library and Archives of Florida. The content of some material may be considered sensitive, reflecting the culture or language of a period or place.
Persons accessing this material assume full responsibility for its use and understand and agree that the State Archives of Florida is not responsible or liable for any claim, loss, or damage arising from the use of these records.
The use of material in the custody of the State Archives of Florida is governed by state law and, in some cases, by the terms of the donation agreement under which the Archives acquired the materials. See Chapter 119, Florida Statutes--Public Records Law and Chapter 257, Florida Statutes--Public Libraries and State Archives.
