Title: Madison County Photographic Collection, 1860-1995
Quantity: Approximately 1,000 photographs
Description: This collection consists of 990 black-and-white images of Madison County and surrounding areas from the 1860s to the 1990s. The photographs depict agriculture, industry, people, residences, and schools from communities including Blue Springs, Cherry Lake, Hamburg, Lee, Macedonia, and Madison.
Historical Note: In March 1996, Maria Greene, Collections Chairperson for the Treasures of Madison County Museum, invited the Florida State Archives to participate in a community effort to collect and copy photographs of Madison County and the surrounding area. Many area residents attended, bringing their family photographs for the staff of the State Archives to copy. This collection is the result of that effort. Visit Madison County's web site!
