General Note
The map is of Cyrus Teed's vision of his "New Jerusalem" and what he envisioned the settlement in Estero to become. The Koreshan settlement in Estero was meant to become the world capital of the Koreshan movement.
The apparatus below the map is the rectilineator, the device used by Teed and his Koreshan Geodetic Survey crew to determine the convexity of the Earth's surface, it was used to prove that humanity lives inside the earth. This hollow earth idea was coined by Teed as cellular cosmogony.
The Koreshan Unity Settlement Historic District was later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
