This leather object fits over fingers and thumb with hard raised surface in the middle of the palm. A similar device is still used by sailmakers to protect the hand from the sharp and heavy needles. The museum, owned by treasure diver Arthur McKee, is located at Treasure Harbor, U.S.1, on Plantation Key, 5 miles south of Tavernier.
