This hunk is taken from wreck of Spanish galleon sunk by hurricane in July 1733, and it covers and hides nails, coins, buckles, buttons, etc. The coralline crusts are not made of living coral but of broken bits of coral, shell and sand that drifted onto the wreck debris, stuck in the slim growing there and gradually turned into cement. This hunk covers and hides nails, coins, buckles, buttons, etc. The museum, owned by treasure diver Arthur McKee, is located at Treasure Harbor, U.S.1, on Plantation Key, 5 miles south of Tavernier.
