The Caribbean Clipper, for years one of the sky-queens of PAA, helped develop the economic life of the islands and continental U.S. and South America, and later was a potent weapon in winning the war against Germany and Japan by serving as a flying classroom, training American and British aerial navigators. The historic Clipper was a Sikorsky S-40 flying boat.
