The Stinson Airliner (Model U) was flown by a predecessor company of Eastern, Ludington, as a passenger plane on the New York-Washington route. It was a monoplane, powered by 3 Lycoming 245 horsepower, air-cooled engines. It carried a pilot, a co-pilot, and ten passengers. It was 38 feet 10 inches long, wingspan 60 feet, weighed 8,400lbs loaded, height 10 feet 4 inches, and had a cruising speed of 118 miles per hour. Eastern disposed of its Stinsons shortly after the purchase of Ludington in 1933.
