Be it remembered that heretofore, to wit; on the ninetieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six. Richard Roberts master of the licensed wrecking schooner Splendid; William H. Bethel, master, of the licensed wrecking sloop Sudlow; William C. Greene, master of the licensed wrecking schooner Hester Ann; & Austin Packer, Master of the licensed wrecking sloop Mount Vernon, by their Rector Adam Gordon [?], filed in the office of the Clerk of the Superior Court, for the Southern Judicial District of Florida , their libel against the cargo and naturals of the American Ship Ajax; which said libel is in the words and figures following, to wit:

To the Hon. James Webb, Esq., Judge of the U.S. District & Superior Court for the Southern District of Florida. In Admiralty.

The Libel of Richard Roberts master of the schooner Splendid with twelve men W.H Bethel, master of sloop Sudlow with twelve men, William C. Greene, master of the Schooner Hester Ann with ten men And Austin Packer, master of the Sloop Mount Vernon, with nine men, all regularly licensed wrecking vessels, against the cargo of the American Ship called the Ajax.
