General Note
Accompanying note: "Special evaluation device used by gyro technicians at Honeywell's inertial guidance facility to check linearity of gyro inductive pick-offs consists of extremely accurate dividing head and a float pan (near technician's hand) connected together by a slim quartz bibre. Gyro signal generator, for example, is floated in viscous fluid in pan to cancel its mass. A master signal generator is then used to check the unit being tested by comparing differences in current. The unit in test is then 'ballanced' by rotating the dividing head until the difference in currents reaches null. This instrument is typical of many that Honeywell has had to design and fabricate in order to test gyros and accelerometers for inertial guidance applications."
