General Note/Comment

  • NOTE: THE TAPE IS BLANK DUE TO RECORDING MALFUNCTION. One digital audio tape (DAT). Dixon, of Naples, sang Child ballads. Note: The term "Child Ballads" does not refer to ballads for children, but to Francis James Child who created a collection of English and Scottish ballads at the end of the nineteenth century and who largely defined the genre as it is known today. See http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/ballads/early_child/#what for more information. The Junkanoos were from Key West.
