General Note/Comment

  • One digital audio tape (DAT). Clements was a long-time bluegrass and old-time music fiddler. Over the years, he played with Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Doc Watson, and Earl Scruggs. The Rice Brothers - Tony, Larry, and Wyatt - have performed bluegrass music with each other and as solo artists since the 1970s. Part of the "New Grass" movement (which also made Clements a well-known performer), the Rice Brothers have popularized and modernized bluegrass music. Tony and Wyatt played guitar, while Larry played mandolin.
