General Note/Comment

• One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Smith and Gavin were boat drivers at Wakulla Springs. Boat tours have been given at the springs on since the late 1800s. Many of the 1980s drivers were descendents of those early drivers, and provide some of the same folk tales. The springs was developed as a tourist attraction in the 1930s (and became a Florida state park in 1987.) Images of the drivers can be found in S 1577, v. 7.
