Accompanying note: "The manatee, or sea cow, was once abundant in Florida coastal waters, but now only about 1,000 remain. These gentlest of all animals, once hunted to near extinction are now protected from hunters but face a new enemy - the cutting blades of powercraft that ply Florida waterways. As vegetarians, with healthy appetites, they help control the growth of water plants that clog Florida's waterways. Boaters, please obey the signs on the waterways about the manatee."
