She is the daughter of Reverend T.J. Abrams and Susie Armentha Abrams. Her father was the pastor of Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church while her mother taught at Station I and Pineview schools. Cleo graduated from Linclon, attended FAMU and taught at Inverness and Ocala.
