Biographical Note
Built in 1848 for Henry L. Rutgers, Territorial treasurer, banker and member of the Tallahassee City Council. Sold in 1893 to Erastus W. Clark, watchmaker and owner of Clark's Jewelry Store. Daughters Janie and Minnie and our husband Lewin Spear owned until the Tallahassee Garden Club bought it in the 1950s.
