The Snead Island Cutoff was an original depth of 12", and was dredged to a depth of 12' in 1906, to take care of the packing houses on Terra Ceia (also known as Snead Island).
Biographical Note
The H.B. Plant (no.2) was built by Merrill-Stevens in Jacksonville in 1899. It travelled the Tampa to Manatee River run. The Plant Investment Line owned it until 1903, and the Favorite Line purchased it in 1912. It burned at a Tampa pier in 1913.
